You could insist that clubs do the following on time: Produce annual accounts Pay the tax man Pay players and staff Pay transfers fees owed. Etc. If they are late then hit them with sanctions which increase in severity including withholding their license to play football. Once clubs get the idea they will get themselves in order because payers will not sign for clubs in that mess. One more point

I agree keep it simple and focus on stopping clubs going bust.

You could insist that clubs do the following on time:

Produce annual accounts

Pay the tax man

Pay players and staff

Pay transfers fees owed.

Etc.

If they are late then hit them with sanctions which increase in severity including withholding their license to play football. Once clubs get the idea they will get themselves in order because payers will not sign for clubs in that mess.

The Liverpool game saw a plethora of ex Liverpool players as pundits and commentators with our sole ex-player on the Sky Sports News channel. Against Villa, it was all about Villa pre-game, during the game and post-game. It was if we were only there to make up the numbers and sooner we're not there, the better in their view. THIS is why: 1. We need to do all we can to stay in the Prem. 2. We should applaud teams like Leicester and Wolves challenging for the Champions League (although I think they will both fall short this year, sadly) and Sheffield U going for the Europa League. 3. We should be happy to see the Spurs and Arsenals of this world struggling to make Europe, not so much because they are London clubs, but because they are seen as the elite.
