In games where we will attack more PvA probably ousts Mitchell and given our next run of games it would be good to at least have PvA as an option. With no cover I think it would take a silly offer for Palace to consider it. I think he would thrive the way Arsenal play though. Bentenke was dropped for Bats yesterday and with Mateta coming in we suddenly are blessed with strikers. I think it could be the player rather than the club preventing any deal happening. Would you want to move to the Midlands for a relegation scrap? From a fan's perspective, unless it would mean we could bring in new players it doesn't benefit us to let anyone leave. The business side of it is obviously down to the club.

Hodgson ,says we are not looking to bring anyone in. The second half of the season could easily go as last season, with a stream of injuries. Why would we send anyone out of the squad? In particular on loan? Only a really good cash offer should stand a chance. Edited by Putitout (31 Jan 2021 11.27am)

I can understand why Big Sam might be interested in Benteke but difficult to see why Arsenal would be interested in Van Aanholt. If both of these rumours are true I think we should take the opportunity to get these players off the wage bill.

PVA to me adds so much more fluidity to us going forward, albeit to the detriment to us defensively. Mitchell is better defensively but offers very little going forward. I’m not convinced on Mitchell yet. Obviously still very inexperienced. Obvious similarities to AWB in attributes.
In an ideal world we'd have two oustanding CBs so we could afford two marauding full backs for width and the Wilf and Eze playing more centrally behind a striker, terrorising defenders. We just don't have the personel though.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

WBA really need to sort out the defensive side of their game. They have conceded 24 goals in 8 PL games since Allardyce took up the 'reins'.

Hooray, hooray, Benteke's on his way!!! Keep PVA until the end of the season unless a decent offer comes in.

They are both off for free in the summer in any case. Palace will not be in the relegation mix with our current points tally. Get them off the wage bill - Mateta already in for Benteke, and lets not forget Joel Ward can cover at left back if Mitchell has a problem. Would be good to know when Nathan Ferguson is due to make an appearance - now would be a good time. We would then have Clyne, Ward and Ferguson on the right, so we should be able to manage.

Interesting. Benteke can basically f*** right off and PVA boo hoo has been unhappy for 75k a week so he can get lost too. If he won't sign a contract, what choice do we have?

You have a short memory if you think ward is a good fit at LB. Mitchell will be injured the day PVA goes and poor ward will spend the rest of the season battling out of natural position while every team channels everything at him. Also... Mitchell needs to rotate with PVA. The games are too congested for one player to play every game. 5 games in February! You may not like PVA but you need to get real. Benteke on the other hand...

If we see the end of Tekkers, this transfer window a huge success!
