Funny how our players seem to do miles better when looking for a new contract. Then, once signed, normal service resumes.

With the set-up against Chelsea, how could really Jairo offer more? He and Luka trying to stop the visitors when our left side (PVA and Eze) was almost non-existing defensively - can easily understand why he did not have his best game.

I never had any space on the field when I was 11. All 20 players round the ball like a swarm of bees!

In my opinion he was only given a a new deal so the club could get some return on the investment when he is sold.

Hi all, I'm coming with my tail between my legs to admit I was wrong. Jairo has proven to be no more than an average squad player. I thought he had the goods. The technique. The vision. Maybe I was swayed by the Ajax thing. Or the odd brilliant pass he makes. But it looks like I was wrong. He's been given an extended run in the team now and he hasn't taken his chance. He'd probably do better in a higher possession team...but he lacks the fundamental work ethic and passion of a PL player. I stand corrected.
