With the numbers involved , it would be the extreme of folly to not have at the very least a verbal understanding with some of those going out of contract.
The team needs a shake up not a demolition, it doesn’t have to be an overnight rebuild, which it would be if the contracts of those with decent mileage still left are not sorted.. The cost alone of bringing in adequate replacements is beyond the club I would have thought.
Some are not up to it, even as squad so it should be goodbye, but I really hope Parish, and Dougie, have got something arranged for at least half of those going out of contract.

False economy. How many of those out of contract can play to good effect two competetive games in quick succession? None, if this season is anything to go by. How many of those players are liable to injury? Quite a few, thus rendering the team makeshift.
Realistically how much gametime are those players going to get?
New blood required across the board.

As I said in the manager thread, Andros Townsend has stated that the players were told that a new manager is a couple of weeks away. When exactly they were told, and how long left to wait, I don't know.

The new manager will decide who stays or goes, then who we bid for.

AT said he had some offers from abroad, but might still sign a new contract, but is waiting for the manager.
