Has to be re-laid, EFL rules. As Harrogate had to do, I think they played at Doncaster’s ground at the start of the season until the new pitch was ready.

There were a couple, Kidderminster Harriers were one of them, who won promotion to the league but weren't allowed in due to their ground. Even though they had them done by the start of the next season. I think the rules may have changed since.

Could be another local side in the EFL with Bromley sneaking into the playoffs at the death. Stole the place from Ryan Reynolds's Wrexham.

I watched Sutton yesterday as well. Not high quality football, but a good, competitive, old fashioned, rough and tumble game that makes you realise that a game of football doesn't have to be played at the highest level to be fun and exciting to watch. Seeing the enjoyment on their fans faces told the story. Hopefully you and a few more Palace fans will visit Sutton United next Tuesday.

Gander Green Lane was where my love of football began. Lovely to see them in League 2 now. I used to go there on my own from a very young age to watch them in the Isthmian League until I was considered old enough to go to Selhurst Park. Was one of the thousands crammed in to watch Leeds Utd give us a bit of a good hiding in the FA Cup. Was too excited to eat the sandwiches my Mum made for me and shared them on the train back from West Sutton to Sutton with a bunch of lovely Leeds fans. Always remember what a nice bunch they actually were to a little kid.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. |

Favourite players of the time were Micky Mellows, Dario Gradi & Terry Howard.

I was born in Sutton and lived there until the age of 11. But while there Palace took all my attention! Pleased they made it through though.
