Will we buy any more? I can imagine us buying a midfielder if one of the cheap ones comes off, like Hughes or Christie. As for the rest, loan Nelson, perhaps a foreign loan striker. Those loans won't be until the end of the window by the looks of things. I can see us sending Mateta back, if it's an option.

We need Will Hughes and Reece Nelson (on loan). We don't know we are playing with 3 CB, what we do know is the midfield was woeful vs. Chelsea. We couldn't get even close to passing through the center. Gallagher will help tremendously, but we need another midfielder who can advance the ball. Nelson is more to give cover to Ayew (until Eze is back).

Our midfield has been getting overwhelmed for a few seasons putting pressure on our full backs. A couple of seasons ago JW was left exposed and we conceded goals down our right side. Saturday we left TM exposed. I know he and others didn't have their best games but untill we shore up of midfield we will always be under pressure against the better teams. Redo, Ayew desperately need replacing as starters. Doesn't matter whose at left back if you leave them exposed so at least two midfielders and a forward. Mmm ateta is not good enough. IMO.

Our most urgent need is to beef up the midfield by finally replacing Cabaye I agree, about the midfield, on Saturday, Chelsea had 5 players in midfield to our 3, the half time change to 3-4-3 helped, i would go 3-5-2 with what we have, if you are outnumbered in midfield you will always have a problem.
