History don't count for much. He's playing like a donkey at the moment. If he doesn't improve, I absolutely expect Olise/Eze to challenge him for a spot.[/quote] This is precisely how it SHOULD be. Otherwise what's the point of having a squad?

You are, though, quite right that most people seem to have been positive even if a few have been concerned at what they claim is his inexperience as a manager.

According to the injuries list for all clubs Olise may well be back in mid-September but he haas never played Premier League football so even if he takes to it like a duck to water we won't see any proper play from him until at least the end of October as he slowly gets match fit.

How on earth Ferguson got through our sign on medical is beyond me. I wouldn’t be surprised if he hood-winked our medical team a bit who fell hook line and sinker for it. He was clearly injured whilst still at West Brom. It was probably his tread mill tests at the medical that made a bad injury even worse!

Further big difference: PV clearly has a good relationship with his players; they speak well of him; he chuckles when an overambitious move founders;Damo had to be restrained when 'discussing tactics' with FdeB.

Where Olise, is concerned, if he is not back in full training it will be weeks yet. The biggest worry with him would be if this shoulder doesn’t respond naturally, it will be surgery, and the weeks could be months. Shoulder??? I had heard it’s his back. Can you enlighten us on his injury? Sounds concerning.

Both he and Eze are ahead of schedule apparently and could well be back early November.

Some interesting footage from the latest squad training session on Palace TV. Thought I recognised someone other than Olise hanging around.
