Human beings do not respond well to receiving huge wealth. Most appear to become very mean and greedy. Makes no sense but seems to be human nature.

I heard a long time ago that Abramovich was considered too stupid to be a rival by Putin. He basically treated him like a clown. Any actual rivals have been done away with. Putin described Abramovich and Chelsea as something along the lines of "A child with his toy". Putin is, at most, mildly amused by Abramovich.

Abramovich is an absolute master of business. Underestimate him at your peril. You don't generate the money he has by being Mr. Nice Guy. On arrival at the front gates, the builders were told in no uncertain terms to clear off as they didn't have the courtesy to ring ahead and tell them they were running late. Abramovich has high business expectations. I imagine his accountant is very tax-efficient.

He basically got given the Soviet Electricity generation company and the entire national grid when the insiders split it all up for nothing. Hardly need to be a master of business for that. The proverbial licence to print money. There was no competition allowed and no investment. Putin has written him off for a fool, otherwise he wouldn't be around, so to speak. He amuses Putin and pays him off like a good boy.

If I were her I'd be more concerned that my name is liable to remind people of Stavros Flately, that father and sone dancing duo from BGT. Not that it will do to all or even most however, just some weird people with brain malfunctions... not me though, I am perfectly sane and normal.

The other night on MOTD Alan Shearer was condemning Chelski FC for failing to criticise Putin's invasion. Quite right Alan people who support despotic regimes that buy football clubs should be called out, err.
