We don't have a midfield. Rak-Sakyi looks lost, Phillips struggling to keep up with the pace of the game as the half wore on and Luka, well, he's not the quickest either, is he. The back line has been decent to be fair and Mateta has bullied their defenders, but I worry in the second half the game could get away from us. I reckon we might just see 4 or 5 subs in the second half as if we change the whole team it could be embarrassing.

Not sure how they gave a corner minutes before the goal? Typical example of how a bad decision has a real influence on a game. That was a goal kick, if so ball cleared , and defence back in shape.

Some of the players are really struggling with the temps. Remember Liverpool have had longer prep time as well. It's pre season not really something to take serious at this early stage

My first half analysis, back four, Ok, Andersen best, Mitchell a worry, Midfield three, Luka not interested, Rak-Sak completely out of position, Phillips a big lump, lots of effort, Edouard left poor, Mateta ok, Ayew ok, not awful but poor midfield, lets see some subs

This Liverpool team isn’t missing to many top names, and playing as you might expect with something to prove . They have set a decent pace and our boys have done well, in particular the two younger boys, yes it’s hard for them ,Phillips has never even sniffed this level, but if this is a taster, he could be one for the near future. It’s pre -season we are under strength but doing well, couldn’t expect much more against this lot.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

For anyone who's not watching, you've got 2 choices for later. Watch the highlights or watch a Liverpool training session. Same thing. Good workout for the players though. Edited by joe_cpfc (15 Jul 2022 2.59pm)

Look at the quality of the substitutions Liverpool made at half time. Most of those players would walk into our starting eleven. Men v Boys

Not sure Palace would feature in any highlights..... Though I guess that's what happens when your most attacking talent is back at home
