Dont know what people are moaning about 19 1994/95 we went 9 consecutive games without scoring . The drought coincided with Chris Armstrong being banned and we ended up with our Centre Half Chris Coleman playing centre forward maybe we should give Tompkins a go as he has been prolific this year compared to Eduard and Matetta

I just wish we’d blast in a few shots from outside the penalty area. We might get a lucky deflection or rebound or corner. The most frustrating aspect of our ‘attacking’ play is fiddling around the penalty area, pretending to be Brazil, with inevitable consequences - ie we lose the ball and set up the opposition for a counter-attack. Sometimes it pays to go primitive.

Mark Bright coaching the strikers! You been sniffing the old Charlie my son. He was a good striker but nothing special never played for England fella. Wright was a great striker and was a better finisher than Bright. Bright is just a puppet for Parish.

Who's going to score them ? The entire squad apart from Zaha and possibly Olise and Eze are clueless in the final third or their game is so flawed they can't be trusted / selected consistently. Nonetheless Vieira and Roberts have to take responsibility for how slow everything is.

We got relegated that season. Anyway, my recollection is that we created tons of clear-cut chances in those 9 matches but our strikers were f***ing hopeless at putting them away. Now we barely create anything.

"Goals Holmes, where do they come from and how to score one? It's all a bit of a mystery!" "On the contrary my good friend Watson, there's nothing mysterious about it. One simply has to put the ball in the opposition's net." "Yes, of course Holmes, how silly of me!"

Sometimes it pays to go primitive. I'm often happier with Andersen's long balls than any of our short stuff. Makes me wonder if we should go more direct. At least the ball is properly out of our box. With our full backs is it any wonder that playing it out from the back doesn't work for us? Upgrade our full backs and do it by all means.

It would be helpful if we played the players in the correct positions, of course. Zaha isn't a striker and Eze isn't a winner. In an ideal world we'd see Zaha and Olise either side of Eduoard. However, given that it's Man City on Saturday I can say with near certainty that it will be Zaha, Olise, Ayew and one of Schlupp or Mateta.

I know Wrighty has his various media commitments but I am sure he would only be glad to help given the chance. Ian Wright? No thanks.
