No surprise, the BBS is full of vitriol, conspiracy theory and the rantings of many odd people

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

No. He is stupid but he isn’t brave. Organising a shooting from 150 yards away that clipped his ear would have been far too risky.

Organising someone in a Biden T-shirt hurling rubber ducks in full camera view is more his style.

I woke this morning to this news.

It’s shocking but unsurprising given the divisive nature of current US politics.

Opinions clearly differ on who and what is responsible for the divisiveness.

Some Republicans have rushed to blame the Democrats, including Biden, for it, saying their attitude towards Trump is entirely to blame.

Unsurprisingly others disagree. Me included. I believe it’s primarily Trump’s responsibility caused by his attitude and behaviour in the last 10 years, which reached the bottom in 2020 with his attempt to deny democracy. Now his attempts to avoid justice stick in the craw of every law abiding person.

I hope this sends enough shockwaves through the USA to stop it, but I fear it will make it worse.

If Elon musk had not bought Twitter (X) we would all be waking up to the news Trump "slipped" while making a speech. Which I might add a lot of MSM are trying to peddle.

I told everyone this would happen. Not exactly surprising I guess.

Another lone gunman?

The circumstances leading up to this strongly suggested a plan B to get rid of Trump.
They tried the conviction. Biden clearly not fit to contest the election. The writing was on the wall.

Problem is, they missed the target.

Because I am attempting to discuss the cause of the divisiveness? When identifying it and eradicating it seems essential?

I subscribe to Gab and routinely receive Andrew Torba's diatribes, most of which are extremely divisive in nature. I received 2 today, the second of which was in reaction to yesterday's event. It's far too long to repeat in full but these are some paragraphs from it. Whatever your political beliefs might be it must surely be plain to all where the divisiveness in the USA is originating:-

Not in the community, not at church, not anywhere. The reasons for this decision are rooted in the belief that being around these people poses a threat to our sanity, safety, and families. The forces that seek to undermine our values, traditions, and way of life are relentless, but so too is our determination to preserve and protect all that we hold dear." 

It's this attitude which lies at the root of the problem in the USA and for which I see no obvious solution. People are living in parallel universes.
