To me Benteke is a quality striker going through a rough patch. It is frustrating that he can't stick the ball in the back of the net, but he is still contributing lots to the team. I thought his approach play was excellent on Saturday and he was getting the positions to score. Sean Dyche clearly rates him which is why he put Jack Cork on him as well a defender! Read on another thread that we haven't beaten a team below us in the league all season which is interesting until another poster pointed out that only Swansea were below us in the league when we played them. Yes Benteke having class is a matter of opinion, his confidence is low at the moment and his timing is off but my opinion is that he has quality. some of what he's being criticised for on here is just plain unfair like his perceived lack of effort. Anyone that actually pays attention rather than just shouting abuse at him can tell that he is clearly under instruction on when in the game to chase things down and when to hold certain positions. But it's cool, we need something to moan about when everything is going so well.

No he hasn't been scoring and is lacking in confidence, does this make him a bad player of course not. Statistics are not fact in the real world but maybe they are in Matteo world

Stats mean little. Watch the body language with Luka's goal v Southampton and Bakary's goal v Burnley. Does he want it? A goal will sort him out I think.

What the f*** are you talking about, want to talk about body language watch when mili missed the penalty and was devastated then scored the winner and was full of joy and admitted he had sleepless nights when he missed his penalty, compare that to benteke who selfishly insisted on taking the pen then misses and doesn't apologise to the fans, he scores and sticks his fingers in his ear. Watch milli work his socks off every game for us and compare that to benteke who hardly breaks a f***ing sweat. I'm sorry I expect our record signing and highest earner of all time to either bang the goals in or put a duckling shift in for the cause. Compare him with zaha who cost half as much and every game effects games and also puts in a shift.

I guess if he doubles his goals to 2 by thd end of the season some fans will still say his hold up play was great and he got lots of flick ons.
