Just to say to all those posters who want Mitchell gone, assist

I’m in total agreement with you, for a few months people have started on players ie Henderson, Mitchell, Clyne and now Ayew being a passenger.
Hope they eat there words after that performance

Lerma was my man of the match, but I would also highlight the contribution from Wharton.
The Guardian today write of his 88% pass completion which dwarves others on the field.
The thing is that it’s not just safe passes - he plays with his head up and looks to play forward passes to get us on the front foot.
He plays with a maturity that belies his age and it was also noteworthy yesterday how many interceptions and tackles he made without conceding fouls.
He looks to be a gem and sadly it won’t be long before the top clubs will be linked with him through their agents in the press.

Lerma has been excellent for us all season, never seems to have a bad game and a constant in midfield, now filling in at CB. Wharton is getting all the plaudits, but Lerma just gets on doing his job and doesn’t get noticed.

An amazing result.
We delivered Klopp's first defeat at Anfield and maybe we have delivered his last as well.
Whole team played well - at the start I felt that Hughes and Clyne were the weak links but they picked up and there could be no complaints from any fan about the standard of play or the effort by every Palace player.
I worried when he made subs but Glasner appears to have trust in all of the players and rightly so.
His methods appear to be working and our fitness was better as well.
The last few games of the season might be fun after all.
Well done CPFC

The speculation is already starting... Nixon is reporting that Blackburn has a sell on clause for Wharton

All this enthusiasm is great, but we haven't stayed up yet.

Staying up will allow us more power to retain our players, of course, and maybe buy a couple more.

I'll celebrate when we are mathematically safe. Supporting Palace for 56 years does that to you.

I’m thinking that Lerma may just be a better player in that defence for us and that he, Andersen and Geuhi could be a great central 3 with Richard’s as a ready replacement? Wharton will need a stronger player alongside him - Dacoure when fit? And of course we already have Hughes, Ozoh and Reidewald for the bench which could be strengthened this summer window?

It does, but after yesterday's performance and another good break to build, maybe just maybe we are heading into pastures new. Yesterdays performance was most unexpected, but hugely refreshing.

Mad old game, just pleased with the effort, fight and times some of our one touch football was amazing. Even if we’d lost 2-1 with late goals I wouldn’t give a monkeys after that effort. Well done boys.

Glasner’s influence is starting to show, saw the green shoots against Citeh. The future might not be as dark as I thought COYP.

A few weeks ago we were talking about a new left wing back, a striker, a winger or two etc.
Today, I am struggling to see where we are looking to strengthen.
If all the players stay and get and stay fit we are suddenly looking at a completely different picture.
With Doucoure back we have an awesome looking midfield with plenty of cover. Ahamada gave us a brief laser beam cameo against City.
Mitchell is clearly a fast learner. Lerma has shot up in everyone's minds and rightly so.
Im sure between Glasner and Dougie there will be some very healthy discussions, but yesterday showed so many positives to move forward with. Long may it continue.

All true and the front three showed good movement too to make themselves available and move the ball quickly. Mitchell looked better going forward as well as making a great block late on from Saleh. He didn't look for Eze but passed into space expecting him to be there which may well have been part of the training. Or it was luck but let's be optimistic.
Maybe OG has instilled more confidence which, along with Andersen's marshalling the defence, made Henderson feel more comfortable.

MOTD - perhaps a unique experience of the pundits practically giving over 100% of the time to praise for Palace - basically Liverpool hardly worthy of a mention. Slightly surreal. But most welcome.

Bang on, they were almost gushing in their praise.
