Ah, one of them people that get more right-wing as they get older. You are very much not alone tbf. Impressed that you voted for benign socialism but disappointed you abandoned Foot.Lovely fella he was. So you did have a heart.

Of course I 'abandoned' Foot, as did many other old school Labour supporters that I knew. After that it became increasingly obvious that the Labour party no longer represented the interests of the people it came into being to support - ordinary British working people. There is a lot about the Tories that I don't like, but the alternatives are simply worse.

For the record, according the ONS, the top 20% of earners had average gross earnings of £87k and average disposable incomes of £62k in 2015/16. That's over £5k a month to spend on housing, food etc.

That's less than £5k a month, no way could I live on that.

Good to see Labour have seized the opportunity for some good ol' point scoring.

Ah yes, Stroud Labour's vice chairman. An influential voice for much of the left no doubt.

Doubtless there's a similar story about a Tory councillor in West Pembrokeshire connecting the terrorist to God's wrath towards the gays, and a Lib Dem member in Twickenham who tweeted how it was all Brexit's fault. This bomb has hopefully acted in making us all, across the spectrum, take a step back from the divisiveness of the election for a few days. A tragedy.

If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4
