He should know that better than most by now. Why risk it? It's a stupid topic to get involved in. Politically it is incredibly naive at best.

To be honest I'm not that interested, but I presume (possibly being generous) that it really wasn't as stupid as it is portrayed. But the problem is he has left himself exposed to being portrayed as a killjoy, out of touch, or an idiot again. Politicians have to be more media-savvy and he just appears completely unable to do so. Worth noting that according to Yougov polling today 51% of the public (and something like 60%+ of Labour voters) think the media is biased against him, but even if they are right, he needs to be more clever about the way he deals with the press.

Funnily enough I watched the video because I had assumed it was a bit of a stitch up. It's not. I saw a a survey yesterday (survation I think) and he was 60% less popular than May. I think he also looks weak re Vaz, saying its's a private matter. I would suggest again he is misreading the public opinion
