There was a certain amount of tut-tutting in the Radio 5 studio when it was reported earlier this afternoon that there had been booing at Millwall when the players knelt.

Like almost everyone else, I'm strongly anti-racist, but, also like many others, I equally strongly believe that this charade has outlived its usefulness - if it ever had any. And if the bevaviour at Millwall starts a trend across the country and the authorities then decide that they have no choice but to bring it to an end, I for one will rejoice.

(By the way, am I right in saying that MOTD now shows taking the knee only before the first match? I'm not at my most alert when the programme comes on, and I'm normally dropping off as it continues.)

Who gives a F. The Millwall fans have just expressed how most feel about an organisation which has nothing to do with the original intentions of boot it out, which is something I think we are all in favour of.

It’s hardly a surprise and I doubt Millwall were the only fans to boo today. They’ve made the headlines due to the clubs reputation.

Sadly there will always be a very small minority of racists, which I don’t think can ever be eradicated. It’s pretty reasonable to suggest that a lot of the British public are sick of being force fed this left wing movement.

Never have I heard a racist comment at football match, you might get a handful of incidents over a Premier League season where some drunk moron shouts racist abuse, which becomes the games talking point. It certainly wasn’t a major problem in the UK before BLM - I fear the movement is having the opposite effect as was intended.

The PL & FA have made a clanger introducing politics into football. 99.9% support the Kick It Out Campaign, but I’d guess the BLM is a pretty even split and driving a wedge between supporters/society.

A can of worms has been opened, the PL can’t really pull out now because they’ll be deemed racist if they do, but I can see this causing trouble if they persist with full stadiums.

They should have also turned their back whilst booing as more of a sign to say they don't want to see the BLM movement envolved in football

The players taking a knee is about anti-racism. If you boo it you are a racist. It really is that simple.
