So to be clear here - you are saying you would have given him 10 games without scoring or picking up a point and only then of sacked him?

You are correct. They scored ONE goal in four games. Phew.

And from 1989 his Man team achieved this...
8 April 1989 Millwall A 0–0
15 April 1989 Derby County H 0–2
22 April 1989 Charlton Athletic A 0–1
29 April 1989 Coventry City H 0–1

Been in a meeting all day and came out the news of this.

I remember administration like it was yesterday but I'm not even exaggerating when I say that this is the most disillusioned I've ever felt as a Palace fan. Devastated that this is how we're operating.

Backed Parish unconditionally at times, but maybe I should've listened a bit more. He's out of his depth, he's run out of ideas. That twitter rant last night was clearly because he views Palace fans as some sort of brainless morons and if he just tweets some bollox and also asks Wilf to put out a little tweet, when he sacks a manager after 4 games, everyone will forgive him.

Gutted that this is what the club has come to. I don't care how good or s*** we are, that's not the point. But if you want to put the real defitnion of "the Palace way" into context, this is most certainly not it.

As my last posts said (which you conveniently ignored) you would have let Frank have gone 10 games without scoring or gaining any points and only then have sacked him?

I feel sorry for FdB and personally I would of given him the Southampton game to prove himself, but there we go.

Seems to me that although the results would of certainly added to the reasons to sack him, I can't help but shake the feeling that this isn't the only reason. If he was unpopular with the players and if he wasn't fitting well in the club with the backroom staff, then all those things combined would of hastened his departure. Every job I've ever had has always had a probation period of three to six months whereby either party can give a weeks notice and be off and this is to check primarily that you can do the job and that you fit into the company and play nicely with others. Seems to me that this might be a similar scenario and FdB just didn't fit right.

As for Parish, there's a lot of people saying he should go and I don't agree with that. Last night his tone on Twitter was defensive of himself, the team and the manager. I didn't get any impression that he was going to sack FdB. Others though have pointed out that it looks as if the American Investors were over and had a meeting with Parish late last night and I do think they've had a big part to play in this. I'm sure Parish's experience in PR/advertising would of been screaming at him that sacking FdB today would cause a huge backlash.
Seems likely that the decision was taken out of his hands and the investors may have felt that they already let Parish continue with Pardew for so long last season, that they wanted this done regardless of how it would affect Parish's, FdB's and the clubs reputations.

I'm going to hold off judgment on Roy until he's had a couple of games. Yes his England managerial career wasn't exactly awash with silverware, but then you can say that of all of them for the past 50 years.

His start was shockingly bad so hardly a surprise.

I get SP hiring him and wanting to change the style of play and progressing the club, but in hindsight he's tried to do it too quickly. There were clear errors in the strategy from SP but also from FDB, they both should have realised in pre season that we didn't have the squad anywhere close to 'total football' tactics.

It would have made sense to get 40 points on the board asap and to then gradually move towards his style towards the end of the season and then into pre season. I can't imagine FDB took much satisfaction from changing to a 541 yesterday.

I think it's for the best that he's gone as I don't think it would have ever worked for us. Also possession football is as boring as hell to watch, in my opinion. Counter attacking all the way for me.

Roy is not the end of the world, apart from Liverpool he has an excellent Premiership record with the smaller clubs. He'll bring a lot of experience to get us out of the current mess. Sadly not the long term answer though

The majority of Palace fans believe Pardew shouldn't have got as long as he did, Parish allowed him time and it nearly sent us down.

No matter who is in charge from this point on, we are facing a strong prospect of having 8 games played and having no points.
Next 4 games are against teams who are much stronger than us.

We had the easiest start to the season than any other team in the division and we are bottom the pile with no points and no goals.

How in the name of sweet jesus can any man expect keep his job after those results.

All I will say is that one doesn't sack one's manager after 4 games based on results alone.

Doesn't one? Did he pass the port the wrong way?😄

Brian Clough only lasted 44 days at Leeds, so this is nothing new.
However, the owners of Leeds changed quite often thereafter.
Unfortunately we are a totally unsettled club.

You may well be right as Sky Sports are reporting that after couple of meetings with SP/DF together with FDB that FDR was concerned about to much meddling in first team affairs by SP which would indicate friction that has been there in the past with other managers seems SP does have a problem with empowerment or lack of it!
