Who needs a roof? There were at least two days a year you'd dare to jump in. Plus there was nearly always a 'floater'.

Anyway I think Tooting is the only Lido locally my friend swims there every Sunday all year.

I remember the old outdoor pool on the Purley Way some of it was 15 foot deep I think, always freezing cold and if you went off the high board you would probably die. It’s a garden centre now but some bits are still there

Ended up with a better sun tan than all those who went and boy was there some delightful ladies at the pool!!! Ollie’s Dad, Ash.

Simpler times. I presume it's gone.

| We used to go to Purley Way pool in the summer. It used to be absolutely rammed but you could spend most of the day there. Always used to take a picnic. Happy days.
