Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

He used to be a neighbour of mine and we joined a community group together and our families socialised. I have never discussed politics with either him or his wife. He is much more focussed on the theatre and literary world. Don’t see him these days but we stay in touch, as does my eldest with theirs.

I have a good friend who is the executive director of one of the BBC’s most successful long running dramas. He has won a BAFTA. So I am reasonably well informed on how the BBC approach their responsibilities. Previous to this he wrote scripts for several of the longest running shows and the lengths that were gone to to get inside the subject are very impressive. Deciding story lines that illuminate areas of current interest is treated very seriously and then great effort is made to present all viewpoints. I worked for the BBC for many years and I would agree that the institution takes its responsibilities very seriously.
