What a very sad situation. Such a shame that fans are turning against other over this. Personally think the abuse the HF are getting over this is very wrong. Is it not SP telling season tickets holders they have to move? The HF have just asked the question, and SP is rightly or wrongly agreeing to it. Not attending because their initial request was denied isn't good though. But are the constant jibes at being spotty school kids dressed in black just as childish? If you had supported palace all your life, been sitting with your wife and son in the same seat for many years, building up friendships with the people around you. Then told you've got to move so that a 'singer' can have your seat. With no guarantee that you will he able to get seats together with wife and kid next season. How would you feel?

Yes I do. Certainly not condoning their actions in some instances, but generally they are a positive aspect of our fan base. Originally posted by i8clowntown

I don’t think that but they may have felt that inspiration to push that little bit more in this division of fine margins. You also know I wouldn’t have felt as hopeful going into April over the last 9 seasons going into April in silence or chants lasting 7 seconds. I’ve seen some of the relegated teams live going into squeaky bvm time and I didn’t think it looked good for them. Luckily that was them and not us. You really think that a 100 people singing and banging a drum makes the players give a little more? The other 25,000 have no effect at all then

Whether fans or fore or against, can we not just move on and support the team. It’s just a seat at a football match. I too am upset and feel this could be handled a lot better. I personally don’t agree with how certain parties have gone about certain things. But there is zero that can be done. Just move on

Remember the ‘90s and after Goldberg?

I, as are the vast majority, am aligned with the club on this .Watching Sporting Lisbon's singing section fans ie the entire stand behind the goal, continually vocally back the team as they created chances ,despite going behind, gave us a vision of what the Selhurst atmosphere could become once the section has been established. One question - will we see the return of the HF section at a home game soon - boy we need all the help we can get ?

Utter nonsense, atmosphere has nothing at to do with performance or results. Arsenal play in silence at the Emirates, it hasn’t done them any harm. When results started to fall, I didn’t hear about them demanding a singing section, just get rid of Wenger. For many, the return of the HF is not about results and performance. It's about enjoying the Selhurst Park atmosphere and day out, which has been terrific, and to support Palace - win, lose or draw. Results are secondary to me. After how unenjoyable the Southampton game was, due to atmosphere, not performance, I won't be returning until the HF are back. I'm sure I'm not alone in this and many fans feel the same.

I have, and also sit with my wife and son, in Block G. I do feel for you, however refuse to believe the club won't be able to find 3 seats together for you. We have about 17K season ticket holders don't we? That leaves 8500 of which are 'free'. My wife and son struggle to see when everyone stands in block G, so I'm sure the HF moving will affect us too. Guess we'd just have to move elsewhere. As long as we're watching somewhere not a huge problem. Originally posted by spartakev2

It’s not the HF that people miss per se, it’s the atmosphere. People don’t go to a restaurant just for the food. They’ll go for the ambience too. We’ve lost lots of fans in the past because the atmosphere can be poor. We have the chance to prevent some of that dip in crowds happening in the future.
