Looks like we may have rival for Benteke this morning. Papers are reporting that West Ham are looking to offload Enner Valencia to fund a bid for Benteke.

Well given this already was our alternative after Batshuayi then we might not have identified too many other targets yet.

These massive transfers don't always happen quickly. Pretty sure when he went to Villa it took a while and obviously £30 million is a ton of dough to work out !

The Tomkins deal took a while from the first announcement and that is a comparatively small fee and there may be other issues with his wages. Cabaye may well have a clause in his contract guaranteeing him being the top earner for instance. I really hope this happens but it could still be a while.

None of us know the full details of this transfer so personally i trust the board are doing all they can in getting this deal nailed. If it happens then great, if not we move on. Time to move forward together.

If you are referring to Tomkins in your comment about "stealing their best" let's not forget that he couldn't get into their first team which is why he was so keen to move
