The usually reliable and well informed journalist and Palace fan Ed Aarons is reporting that Zaha is determined to leave the club and is relaxed about the transfer saga rumbling on until October.
No real surprise there as that why Zaha appointed a new agent in the first place to get his move.
It would surely be preferable for the club to sell him prior to October to get the funds and organise replacement(s).
The timing of the story today would seem to put the pressure back on the club as surely they wouldn’t want to be left with an unmotivated Zaha again next season and also without the sale proceeds or a replacement.

It’s all playing into the hands of the buyer to get a good deal their end. Going to get messy and put pressure on us. We’ll then find it difficult to buy sensibly.

I think if it comes down to an amount lower than we’ll lose being taken to the cleaners we’ve got to do a deal. The on pitch issues are even more important this year if one of our only out balls isn’t replaced with a different pattern of play early enough.

If we get Fraser and with Eze, Ayew, Schlupp (and if necessary Benteke) as the rest of our attacking force, we could play a different system and leave Wilf on the bench. We still need attacking back-up, of course.

It will be interesting to see whether Wilf plays again on Saturday and/or the Millwall game. Eze will need time to adjust to the Palace way but hopefully will make the Brondby game.

Not leaving for the money. Not leaving for Champions League. Not sure why he wants to go so badly. I wish him well, but not sure the new fans will be quite so pleased if he puts in the same effort as last year.

Here's my prediction - he plays opening day and gets himself sent off. James Ward-Prowse has him in his pocket every game. They will target him and take turns to foul him and Wilf will totally lose it - does it all the time against Saints and Watford.

Unfortunately he has lost the will to stick it to them by showing them what he can do with the ball.

I love Wilf - I think he is one of the finest, if not the finest, to ever wear the shirt. Sadly last season he let himself and the team down (in my opinion).

As I understand it we received a £40K bid from Arsenal which was payable over 4 or 5 seasons and a marginally better bid from Everton. As he is our star player i am not surprised those bids were rejected. The perception was that he then sulked his way through the season.

I don't know what he was promised when he signed his contract the previous season so maybe he was entitled to be aggrieved.

Although I would have to say that if he signed a new contract as a kindness to the club, protecting his valuation and did not see fit to build in suitable release clauses then his advisors are frankly crap and I do think he is badly advised.

Personally I want this saga to be resolved during this window. Stay Wilf and be a big fish in a relatively small pond (but if we show some ambition in the window the pond could grow) or go, with the blessing of most true fans provided the fee is a fair one. But the grass is not always greener (remember MU).

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

If the refs were half as good as Wilf then we would have gained a few more points last season. Hopefully we will get a reasonable offer and he will go somewhere else and maybe come back for a swansong. I only hope if he moves it won't be to BHA or WHam.

I live in hope that the acquisition of attacking players will inspire Wilf to show his stuff.

Surely he must realise that good performances will up his value and the attraction of bids. Or is he a bit dense?

What Wilf needs to realise is that - Yes, you can go when someone makes an offer. I'm afraid there are no offers! If he was as good as he thinks he is or was held in high regard then offers would be flooding in - He ain't.

Totally agree with you. He's our most tallented player. The oposition are scared to let him have the ball. He has his flaws, yet we don't set up the team to play to his strengths. It's no wonder he is frustrated.

The level of critism leveled at him seems completely unwarrented. We generally play a team that can't string two passes together yet Wilf gets slated if he doesnt put on an outstanding performance every week.

If he does have a quite game it's normally because he's getting doubled up on and the rest of the team is incapable of causing any kind of threat to the oposition.

In our last game he won a penalty and scored an equaliser, yet many are questioning what he was going on the pitch.

Looking forward to seeing Wilf, Eze, and Townsend playing together. Hopefully in a way that suit Benteke.

hope Wilf stays with the kids coming in if not no panic, we have untried kids who have the skills and speed until we play them more than 10mins we dont know what we have,so if he stays he may not need to do it all himself big chance he could look up and see a palace shirt in front of him for a change,all i want is that when he doesnt get a foul he gets up and chase back not sit and cry
