I know, I know. And in case you missed it, the UK voted to leave the EU by a margin of 52% - 48% (give or take). Out of the EU and into the EEA mostly likely. Maybe we just wanted an extra letter. Edited by blackpalacefan (27 Jun 2016 8.01pm)

Daniel Hannan has already said he's happy to say in the single market and that he doesnt want immigration cut sharply. Boris has just said he wants to be part of the single market and doesnt believe that immigration is a factor or concern for most people. The backtracking is coming thick and part. This was never about slowing immigration for them anyway, it doesnt effect them. The reality of the situation has hit home and he realises that whatever decision he makes he'll be seen as the bad guy. I think he genuinely thought remain would win, and he'd be seen as the plucky man of the people, setting up a case to next next prime minister. Now he may very well be prime minister, but in the midst of a very unstable situation where whatever route he goes will infuriate millions. Edited by blackpalacefan (27 Jun 2016 7.29pm)
"It ought to be possible to stay in a free market arrangement with the EU", with some EU nationals able to work in the UK, says Conservative MEP Daniel Hannan. But didn't many people vote Leave because they wanted a cut in immigration, he is asked. Leave campaigner Mr Hannan insists he has "been saying the same thing throughout" the campaign. "It will be for Parliament to decide what immigration policy we have," he says. "It doesn't mean that we raise the drawbridge. Personally, I'm quite liberal about immigration."

Not as bad as having the referendum in the first place. Or at worst 6 months after he was voted back in whilst he was still fairly popular. Having it mid-term was kamikaze politics.

Dear all - please sign this position to replay the Iceland - England game until we get the result we want. You can join the 30,000 that have already signed from Vatican City (population 800). We also have some scripts running that randomise postcodes to submit fake petition signatures. We can get it up to 4million in no time at all.

Nigel Farage has hit out at Conservative MP and Leave campaigner Daniel Hannan for "selling out" over immigration. Mr Hannan has said he is interested in returning control of immigration policy to Parliament. And, speaking earlier on the BBC News Channel, he said he was "quite liberal about immigration" - though he acknowledged that some would disagree with that stance. Meanwhile, Mr Farage was on Channel 4 News saying: "We can control immigration. "All we need is a Conservative Party government with the will to do it. "And to hear somebody like Dan Hannan effectively selling out - or potentially selling out - already worries me greatly."

This is all great news for UKIP. I agree, it will keep their support going but under a FPTP system they have their work cut out. That and it will be down to a conversative government to put these trade deals in place over the next two years.
