I really thought he knew his football. He's been told.


To be fair, a Blackburn fan I know said the same thing. Described him as a pretty average defender with very limited ability. He's been anything but average since January.

I'd probably go:

Chamakh
Puncheon
Dann

Ledley, mariappa, jerome and Gayle have all made telling contributions as well. Oh and Grandin.

I was speaking to a liverpool fan I know last night and he admitted that three of our back four were better than theirs I wonder if can guess what three.

Surely you are better off differentiating those that you would like to keep and those that should go. I would keep:

Puncheon, Ledley, Ince, Guediora, Hennessy, Dann, Mariappa, Gayle, Chamakh, Bannan, Jerome, Hunt.

So actually 12 of those signed I would retain. Not a bad return.
However if Pulis believe he can improve I would be happy to stick with his judgement in trading up.
Time still on the side of Gayle, Bannan and Hunt.

1) Puncheon. Was decent as a loanee, then amazing as a full time player.

2) Gayle. Last night and Villa, definitely one for now and the future.

3) Hennessey. Look at what he's don't to Julian, he may not have played a minute...but look at how he affected him.

It's tough, there have been more than a few successes (as well as some abject failures!) I'll go with

1. Chamakh - Tireless and has a great touch
2. Puncheon - I didn't rate him but his goals and effort have been spectacular for the last quarter if the seasin
3. Dann - Solid, and one of the reasons we have such a tight defense.
