Lived in Falmouth aged 9 to 12. Was great going down to the beach after school.
I developed a strange cornish/London accent...
Cornwall is a lovely lovely place, A lot of pockets of deprivation unfortunately.

Moving there as soon as I secure a job that way. Cannot wait to start fresh.

Don't blame you. You can literally walk across a bridge and leave Cornwall and go to your nice new employment in big city Plymouth in Devon if needs must but be back in lovely Kernow in time for the six o'clock news.
People smile and say 'hello' down here and neighbours talk to each other. The freaks.

I need this in my life Kerms, I am looking at the north coast as I want the Surfing, the coastline, the fishing & the mountain biking. Chuck in a sensible amount to rent a place, A fair chance of one day buying my own place & a bit of scenery that is a bit nicer than factory lane & I'll be a happy ouzy.
The mountains are calling & I must go.

Not a pipe dream. Though I'd try not to have to rent if you could avoid it as you can still get half decent flats in this part of the world for low prices. My neighbour is a surfer dude big time. Sensible chap does the 9-5 in Exeter but spends his free time disappearing to the very coast you mention and very often. He couldn't afford the lifestyle otherwise.

Oh, and the women in Exeter. Blimey. If I were just two decades younger. 7,000 females at the Uni to plough through. You wouldn't have any time for surfing

The access is s***e. As is the accent.
It's nice, apart from the locals who think they're a seperate race.[/quote]
This. Been to Cornwall many times over the years but I noticed this too when I met some Cornish folk when we lived in Spain! A weird bunch imo. As for access, left Whyteleafe at 2.15pm on the Saturday that Utd won the FA Cup on their way to the treble and was in StIves bay at 6.15pm. But equally we've had many 7hr+ journeys. The South West DESERVES far better access. Screw HS2, spend the money to go somewhere far nicer! Big business will flourish and the tourist 'window' will be far far greater which can only be a good thing for many locals as well as those who fancy a quick w'end away to somewhere nice. It may also help to cut out the inbreeding

Let's be honest, you didn't drive, you walked quickly. 'Come on kids, keep up'.......
