Oh, and back on topic - the first example I think of when music theft comes up is Georgie boy Harrison pinching He's so fine (Chiffons) for My Sweet Lord. I even thought they sounded similar before I heard about all the court hullabaloo (he got found guilty but claimed it was unintentional)

How long has it taken to get to court? I think if its taken you 30 plus years to get around to taking action that one of your songs was ripped off from one of the most well known and played rock tracks in the history of mankind, you probably didn't care too much. Plus who really gives a s**t. It was released in 1971 presumably if they really had a case, they probably should have brought it by, I don't know, 1980. 40 years on seems a bit late in the day to be claiming ownership rights.
