Benteke would have to be replaced as Remy is most likely just one game away from his next injury and we need a LB and LW as an absolute minimum. Plus Campbell maybe going out on loan. We are going to struggle to sign the players we absolutely need, down the left side, in this notoriously expensive window, without adding to the problems.

I'd much prefer getting the left-sided problem sorted this window and get the rest of the team playing to their full potential. The summer is the time for major overhauls, not January, especially at the speed we recruit and there's hardly likely to be a queue of quality potential joiners round the block.

I'm with bexleydave. This is no time to gamble with limited time left. Let's add to the squad where urgently required, and do a big sort out of the rest at the end of the season. Although getting rid of fringe players is a must asap for more cash to spend. We've gambled once with the manager change, which has yet to show real signs of improvement, so lets not roll the dice again too soon. Besides, we haven't played to Bentekes strengths yet, which is in to feet and on to through balls.

Benteke may not of put in enough effort yet but he has already scored a good amount of goals. He is the right build of striker for us and what are we going to get that is better? Until a better replacement is bought in he should not be allowed to leave, we have seen what he can do at previous clubs and if we could get him to actually show some fight then none of us would want rid of him. I never would have guessed we would be in this position at the start of the season.

That's the bit that has really disappointed me. I thought he was much better on the ground than he's been so far. Also I thought he had a better work rate. To be honest I've not seen a 32m player yet.

I thought the same thing. Every time he gets the ball to feet he seems to mis control it or when he's running with the ball at his feet he seems to lose control or over hit it all the time. Can't fault him in the air but disappointing (so far) with the ball at his feet.

I still think he'll be a great player for us but I've been a tad underwhelmed so far.

Why do people believe this s***e?
Unless we are lining up a 50m signing then forget and carry on.

I just don't think he hasn't got in to his stride yet. From day one when we signed him, due to his heading ability, we have tended to just knock high balls to him. I have seen him gesture on a few occasions to play the ball in to him lower. I think with the fear that the other players are playing with at the moment, they seem to want to offload the ball asap and the quickest option is to pump it long to him.

Think of Benteke like a gun, no bullets he can't shoot. The rest of the team supply the bullets. They aren't doing hence it looks bad on him.

We could have Lionel f***ing Messi up front and you'd be moaning about him not scoring after six games. Fact is if you haven't got the ball you can't score.

Not to mention the fact that when the ball is played to him, it's normally been walloped by Ward or Delaney at 60 mph 20 feet in the air.

The missed penalties were piss poor though can't deny that and can't blame poor service for it . Not a reason to sell someone who has only been at the club for 5 minutes however

I think your'e right. Our one attacking tactic is hoof it high to Benteke. I am sure that BFS will find better ways of working with him to make him more effective. Selling your one striker who has scored goals does not seem a very clever way to avoid relegation

THIS^ I'd be super-p1zzed-off if we let Benteke go! Him and Remy will be the pants, especially with the other positions fixed - don't be MAD!
