You began to lose me when you announced Puncheon as the captain. We need creativity in the middle so we can score more goals than we let in. At this rate we will need to score 4 goals a game to win any points.

I should add another positive. Restricted view tickets meant I only saw Palace play like sh*te for about 80% of the game! I'm being jovial, don't gun me down!

Many bleat on how the HF get a mention all the time and bitch that there are other fans you know? Yes the type that turn on new players and managers 35 minutes into their first game. Give up chanting at the first sign of trouble and then bang on about our wonderful atmosphere when we're winning. At least the HF keep singing and jumping all game long. Yes lots of mistakes were made today and I'm also baffled by some of FdB's decision, but this was our fifth game playing this system against a team that has played a passing game for the past two seasons. It was a game I was really uncomfortable with to be fair because of that reason. Still we go again next week. Huddersfield wont have another easy game like that all season. I was worried 3 at the back would see us get hammered, due to the calibre of players we have. We cant play like that! We simply cant. Its all about getting points on the board, and a la last season, failed in our "easier" game. Look a little bit of me thinks that we needed this defeat in a strange way. DeBoer now knows this league is ruthless. He also now knows that 3 at the back, with Dann in the middle is bot the way forward. Mensah and Reidwalierd (spelling) did well to keep looking after Dann in my opinion. If we ever did sign Sakho, i dont think even he could play 3. I believe we need a 4 or 5 and if we did we would have a solid looking defense. For as much as i like Ward, and he should be respected more in my opinion, RW or RWB he is not good enough to operate there. Althoygh maybe forced as i see that Townesend looks like he is off to Leicester. Puncheon for me needs to go top left, L-C coming in behind in the middle. He looked completly lost out there and didnt look like a capatain marvel we needed when we went 0-1. Oh and we could have ANYONE in goal today and still would have lost setting up like that. Come on Mr DeBoer over to you know... Nuff Said...

Perhaps it was unwise of Frank to signpost his tactical approach so publicly in advance of the season. H'field knew exactly how we would play and adapted accordingly. By contrast, no one knew what tactics H'field would adopt. I doubt if anyone had done much research.

H'field knew exactly how we would play and adapted accordingly.

By contrast, no one knew what tactics H'field would adopt. I doubt if anyone had done much research.

All we need is Sakho and a right wing back. Ideally also a striker and a goalie. Most of the players are good enough to play the system. Very impressed with Fosu Mensah and with Loftus Cheek. I have been thinking all along we are biding our time to buy Sakho for a £5m discount. I do wonder if we should just bite the bullet now though. Similarly with Callum Chambers. Those two would make all the difference. Used to be our left side was weak, now it's the right

Very impressed with Fosu Mensah and with Loftus Cheek.

I have been thinking all along we are biding our time to buy Sakho for a £5m discount. I do wonder if we should just bite the bullet now though.

Yes. Were you watching Tomkins in the last few games of last season? Riedewald might be better with fewer headless chickens around him but he couldn't settle the defenders down and Tomkins isn't Sakho but he has more of that gravitas.

If you have a wee look at the player ratings thread you'll see that I'm not the only one who thought Riedewald was poor today
