Euro - 2004 - at his absolute best (until injury) If you compared that to Gary Lineker's international tournaments there is no comparison. It happens so often. You can't have a one man team though. Rooney is alright, but he's never had the kind of drive and zeal for his national side that Beckham had (who'd be here, there and everywhere on the pitch if we were losing or drawing). But he was far from being to blame for a poor showing at the last few tournaments. He's probably been one of the providers of a few moments of lightness in that dark tunnel.

For the record I don't think there is any excuse for drink driving, but when you're as rich as this man it really winds me up. Get a taxi FFS !!!
