this list is from 2007 world money rankings. And wow, does it look very dated from our perspective today ?

Sunderland are one where it's all gone wrong in a great stadium.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

During that time the highest they finished was 10th and the lowest 20th (Last season). In their last 3 seasons in the PL they finished 16th,17th and then 20th so a decline each season. And of course they are in a relegation battle to stay in the Championship.Exceedingly depressing for Sunderland supporters who still turn out in force - they have had between 27,000 and 30,000 in recent games. I reckon they dangled a huge bonus in front of Coleman if he got them promoted. I don't think they told him that it's not for promotion back into the Championship.

When Coleman took over Sunderland were rock-bottom and 4 pts from safety. They are currently one off the bottom and 3 pts from safety. He brought in 4 players on Loan in the 'window', Camp,Clarke-Salter, Ejaria and Fletcher. What a result for them last week, coming back from 3-0 down at Bristol C to draw 3-3.So signs of progress.

Blackburn rovers once won the Premier League. and Wigan were a force to be reckoned with for many years.
and i read somewhere that Everton were, for many years, almost the equal of Liverpool. That seems like many moons ago. Edited by PalazioVecchio (05 Mar 2018 9.38am)
