Zombie by The Cranberries is a truly terrible song, and so is Creep by Radiohead, But The Only Way Is Up by Yazz tops the list of woeful songs, but marked the downfall of crappy 80s music.

Aqua, Venga Boys, London Boys - probably all played at the Amex - believe they all had number ones (maybe not London boys).
'Shudupayourface' was pretty bad and number one.
Buck's Fizz 'making your mind up' number oneaw them live at Butlins - not intentionally of course.
Chaz and Dave 'Snooker Loopy' with the Match Room boys.

One many of us will have (I bought it twice - went to number twenty-five I believe). CPFC 'Glad all Over' FA Cup final song. Truly all footballers' singing is awful.

The OP asked what is the worst song ever written/performed. I don't think it was an invite to be lazy and completely dismiss an artist's whole back catalogue, or come to that, a whole era of music.

you've all disappointed me to be honest, quite tame your dislikes, and there's much worse out there, remember Kenny Evertt's worst ever top 20 or anything by William Shatner? I had a mate once whose parents had the most amazing collection of dreadful singles: Frank Ifield, Charlie Drake, Bruce Forsyth before he was famous, Dick Emery, I'll pass on a few links, but first, this is the ultimate ... Lieutant Pigeon, mouldy old dough and the old girl on the joanna, they had a follow up flop, Desperate Dan .. oh but the B-side, we nearly died laughing when we played it, what happened, had they all taken acid, were they kidnapped an replaced by psychedelic impostors? Mouldy old dough this ain't ... I give you Opus 300 ... now this is a bad bit of music.
