James Cameron knows how to make great action movies as he proved with again Aliens. It ain't meant to be super intellectual or profound or anything like that. It's an hour and a half of escapism. I remember going to see Terminator for something to do with my then girlfriend, because it had Arnold in it and with no expectation, and it turned out to be one of the best low budget sci-fi films I have seen.
James Cameron knows how to make great action movies as he proved with again Aliens.

It ain't meant to be super intellectual or profound or anything like that. It's an hour and a half of escapism.

Yes. I think that sometimes you have to be the right age and see it in the context of its time.

That said, I haven't yet seen a better sci-fi/horror than Aliens, Alien, The Thing or Invasion of the Body snatchers even with all the CGI available these days.

The first couple of diehards and the first two Bourne thingies are worth watching. The rest don't bother - not that I have ever watched them either. Particularly, find that I cannot relate to upper-middle class New York Americans and their social dilemma as Woody Allen likes to inflict upon his audiences. I haven't kids yet but hopefully next year, I would love to think I can put them through all of the only fools and horses episodes, but I think it'll be old hat and they'll hate me for it...
