More possession, more chances created, more touches in the opposition's box etc. It's a funny old game, however, the law of averages says we need to improve our approach asap as a better team will destroy us

We defended well and took our chances which is exactly what you need to do to win a football match. Some people seem to think extra points are given for style (thankfully they aren't although both goals were pretty stylish).

All those shots but very few on target. This was supposed to be their big chance to show us up and they blew it. If anyone should be embarrassed, it's them. Agreed, on NSC last night they were demanding Potter out, fed up with tippy tappy football with no end result. They have won once at home this season. They acknowlegded our best players were out and they still couldnt win.

On the question of goals scored, we are only 2 behind what we got in the whole of last season and have scored more league goals than SEVEN teams in our league (including, of course, Brighton, despite all their pretty football). And we are managing it with the worst injury record of any team in the PL (including Liverpool).

The only players who we have injured that are likely to be in the squad are Zaha, Schlupp, McArthur and Tomkins. That’s just 4. Also we have to consider the issue over the whole season so far and we started our season with our reserve defence in place and like Liverpool have been unable to start with a settled defensive line-up for most of the season. As for Liverpool how many of their injured players would be first choice? I'd say, Van Digt, one out of Gomes and Matip and possibly Jota. Hendo only joined the list last weekend. I doubt there has been a single game this season in which we've been able to field our first choice XI.
