Agreed but that’s not because of the division we’re in it’s down to RH and his tactics. He has no ambition other than survival and that’s the missing denominator when compared to being in the Championship. In the Championship you have the ambition to get promotion and because of the playoffs the chance and excitement of that can last up to the end of the season. Not all RH’s fault granted, with little financial backup from the board. However we should at least have the genuine ambition for European football or at least a Cup Final however RH knows if he plays his park the bus way and concentrates solely on survival in the Prem, statistically he will just gain enough points to achieve his goal We need to risk more, have more ambition or of course things in the Prem will be tedious ...Time for a young , hungry motivational manager Next season our aim should be a cup final... the league is what it is and the position we finish in looks comfortable, so it's time to push for a comp and take that seriously.

Is it? An away game. Great result, not denying it , but it’s more about the opposition than Palace.

The adrenaline rush and excitement that come from the one off games the author cites come through a process of playing throughout a season - for the relief and joy of the Wednesday game we had to be crap all through the rest of the season - not much enjoyment there!

I’d go to any European game , anywhere. Bosnia, galatasary, Serbia, Russia, Poland. wouldn’t care. Yeah you could actually die at any of those venues so it’ll be one killing 2 birds with one stone, including yourself.

I found pardew entertaining... losing 22-21 to Swansea as an example. I can’t remember how I celebrated away goals in the house back then. Was it with the same ‘’Oh we’ve scored’’ as now, knowing there’d be more goals for both sides unlike no attacks for the rest of the game now? Or did I properly celebrate and then couldn’t get over 3 more goals in the last few minutes?

Tier 1 top 6 teams never go down. Tier 2 teams rarely go down but they do like villa. Tier 3 teams will inevitably boing between the divisions. Sometimes like Sunderland they drop even further. We are tier 3 so the op will inevitably get what he wants whether he likes it or not. A few more years in this division with careful growth and we may rise into tier 2. That seems the business plan. Great for business but not for excitement.

The only way Palace will grow is to be in the Prem. More people around the world know of Palace than they did nine years ago. Best wayy to attract local UK and Croydon area kids is to play and beat the top 6. Wonder what the 3-3 with Liverpool did to our standing? We have an exciting Academy funded by the Prem. I'm a bit bored too but its not about me or individual fans its about the club improving and growing.

Nice one Casual this has been a thought provoking thread. The squad needs a refresh/overhaul but what’s the point loading the Bench with new players when the manager doesn’t play them? Clearly there is a risk of relegation in a change from Roy - but there’s also a risk of that if we keep him! The smart move imo is for the next manager to have the experience and tools to bounce back up, if the worst were to happen just like Norwich have done this season. I reckon a fair few fans would accept that.

Watching man.c is f***ing boring, I only watch Palace play and perhaps others who's results will affect our standing, I watched the FA cup final only because I wanted to see Chelsea lose because I hate them more, I'd definitely enjoy the Championship more then this crap league and only hoped with being here we'd be able to improve our ground, what a laugh that is.
