The commercial tour got off to a predictable start ,We apparently took orders for 3 shirts and a Palace mug .

It was great the way our young players grasped the nettle here. There were times in the game ,in front 50 plus thousand, facing a number of top international players, and they didn’t let anyone down. The last 15 minutes, boys against boys, and our future looked as bright as theirs , in that respect. If a little fitter and a touch more polish Phillips could be on his way to first team football.

In the end it was a good fitness exercise and the defence got a workout. Great experience for the young lads playing in front of 50,000. Raymond showed composure and a few nice touches when he came on and I actually thought our young guns were better than Liverpool's for that brief 15 minute spell. Tayo is so quick! If he can match the defensive qualities of Mitchell he could be a real talent in a couple of years and O'Brien impresses me whenever I see him too. To come away with a 2-0 defeat is fine given the difference in the squads.
