Their usual game plan of rotational fouling and winding up Wilf now out the window. Full credit to them though, they always manage to do it and Wilf never fails to bite. No free kicks on the edge of the box, and we should be fine.

Maybe we could get Wilf to walk up and down the touchline to distract JWP!!

I want Southampton to go down. Hopefully we help them on their way. 0-2 Palace. Edouard and Olise.

Wise words from Willo. But 2-2

I cannot imagine for one moment wanting anything to do with this vile club, my memory of absolutely hating them goes back to our team of the eighties and the time my Dad took me and my brother to Selhurst to watch us play this vile club, they booted us left right and centre for the entire game leaving us with injured players all over the pitch, papers the next day with horrified reports. Hated them ever since and will hate them for ever more.

I was at Stamford bridge for the 76 cup semi final against Southampton, never liked them since. First 5 minutes they kicked Peter Taylor up in the air. As for their old ground, The Dell, horrible ground. Love to take 3 points off them.

Ditto, and I've never got over it. Dirty, cheating cvnts, and the ref even gave them a penalty for a foul outside the area.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I see a much tighter game against Southampton. As with Leeds they will come at us fast and hard. This time we need to be better prepared for that. But we are in a comfortable and relaxed position. We can wait for them to make a mistake and punish them when they do. 0 2 for me.

Was it that we had a string of tough games under big Pat or he didn’t have clue? We will never know, but the players are playing with a smile on their faces now which I rarely saw under Pat.

Can I dream of 2 wins on the bounce, why not. 2-1 to Palace.

Johnstone for me Painter. He had a nervy start which is understandable but kept us in it . Fair play to him . 1-1 against the Saints would do .

They have to win, we don’t. The way we played the last two games I think we will win by more than one goal

We never really got going against them and the main reason was because of the way they treated our players! ..and it was the first time I heard their horrific laborious song first hand, drives me insane and when Spurs copied it I ................

And I disliked David Peach back then who scored the penalty that wasn’t just as much as I do now with JWP :-(

Mel Blyth whom we sold to Southampton played in that semi-final game.

I visited 'The Dell' on a few occasions. The stand behind one of the goals was certainly unique!
