I agree but I thought he might get a red as the challenge could have been deemed “out of control”. How the referee didn’t penalise the blatant use of the elbows by Dawson constantly was no surprise, he just isn’t any good.

It's a gripe as old as time so I have tried to refrain from expressing it however I will say that it seemed as though the officials were intent on accommodating Wolves' non-footballing tactics yesterday and seeing through their win.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

It was a 50:50 ball which the Wolves defender got to first and shielded with Olise tripping on his leg. For Olise to be fouled he surely has to be in possession? He never got to the ball. I think the ref got the Johnston decision correct. Initially I was annoyed as he got the ball, but rules are rules with studs up. It was reckless.

It was a chop tackle by the defender which is ok if you get the ball but stamping your foot in front of another player’s leg from a side on position is still a foul if you don’t get the ball and prevent a players run. If that was a top 6 team then var would have called a penalty all day long.

I agree Nick. Wolves used the mock injury tactic to good effect last night and Lopetegui carefully wasted time with substitutions towards the end which spoiled any momentum we achieved. Won't be surprised to see Vicente back for the West Ham game on Saturday.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Both good keepers. Happy for either.

The referee would have deemed it as reckless play (yellow) rather than dangerous play or using excessive force (red). He could have seen it as careless play and not given any card at all It was actually for me borderline if it was even a penalty ,Ive no complaints that it was but was one of those that had it not been given would not have been overturned That's interesting that if no contact is made then it's only a yellow for reckless play. It doesn't really discourage those types of challenges if players know they can getaway with it, if no contact is made. I would have thought, any player jumping in with studs showing gets a red card regardless.

Didn't deserve to lose. Weird goals. However even though we played them off the park we were not good enough to break through. Take it move on.

Very similar to the one on Mitoma at Spurs. Brighton got an apology for it not being given
