My feeling hasn’t changed since Roy was re-appointed.

It’s another race to 36+ points then see if we can finish mid table.

Disbelief...we've had all summer to sort our sh1t out and here's my take on it. Lets see where we are at the end of August.

1. We've had to persuade a 75yr old pensioner to carry on as manager because no one else would touch us with a barge pole.
2. We let Butland go when we knew Guaita wanted to go home last season, whom now refuses to play so we only have one goalie.
3. Our only left back is injured and we're scrabbling about trying to get a loan in from Chelski and the season starts today.
4. We've lost three midfielders (2 left and ones injured) and have brought in one freebie.
5. Wilf finally made his mind up and fvcked off - so we've replaced him with a 19yr old Brazilian who has only 1000 minutes of first team football under his belt, with no PL experience and who is injured and can't play.
6. We can't off load JPM as no one wants to buy him and they want to only loan him so they can assess just how sh1t he is for themselves.
7. free signings such as Taoare and Barkley have gone elsewhere - not sure we were even in for them but surely Barkley would prefer to come here rather than Luton ffs.

So it all seems a bit mickey mouse to me for a supposedly established premier league club.

But as Parish says "Carry on up the Place"

I’m not sure they’ll be any progress on 12th. Especially with the current squad. Saying that we’re 2/3 players away from being a decent team but have been saying that for a while now. If Franca turns out to be a gem and everyone stays fit we could have a decent season and maybe progress. Lerma will improve the engine room. I actually think we will miss Zaha but not as much as a few years ago but he’s been our Talisman for a reason he’s a level above, always takes out 2 defenders even on a bad day and gives opposition defences a worry for 90 minutes.

Olise injury a massive concern I don’t think he’s the best physical specimen anyway and this could really hold him back for a while I don’t think he’ll leave this window with such a serious injury, his pace isn’t great anyway if he loses a yard or carrying it not sure he’ll be the same anyway this season missing pre-season is huge.

My biggest hopes are iwe get Hall in and even a player like Che Adams it will improve us enough to stand still at least and Eze is literally on fire. Maybe Eddie will get going but can’t see it and our RB situation confuses me been needing an upgrade for 4 years I feel like Parish can’t bare to pay for a new one with our academy meant to be producing full backs or wide players with ease apparently. Some weak teams this season however, with newly promoted ones and Wolves and Everton standing still too so I don’t think we’ll be be in any bother. Stay in the league, flog a star or two and re-invest in the squad, have some gems introduced from the academy and build the new stand before Parish flogs us and we maybe progress, that’s now I see things over the next 2/3 years.

We’ve still come a very long way just to be happy with mid table obscurity not sexy but it’s true! Up the palace

My optimism that I had at the end of last season has diminished I’m afraid. I really cannot believe our lack of transfer activity. Did we not, allegedly have big money to buy Gallagher last summer? Or was this another Parish PR stunt? Did Textor not add £30m in January?
I’m not saying buy any old s*** but there have been some good deals being done by other clubs. I do believe Parish is probably our best ever Chairman but do not believe he should be exempt from criticism. Most transfer windows we get “ we tried but….”
If we get no more incomings imo opinion he deserves criticism and we deserve a credible explanation

This was one of my points, none of us know the finances of the club and what’s involved bringing a player in, yet some criticise Parish when they have no clue how to run a football club. Some also spend far too much time looking at what other clubs are doing when we consistently over the last 10 years finish above a lot of them. We all feel like we need a couple more decent signings, but as Ange says at spurs it’s not as easy as telling the mrs you’re just off down the supermarket to by some players

TBF I have supported Parish on here and have often commented how difficult it is to get transfers done ( been criticised for backing Dazza on this point). We shall see at the end of window if we do, in fact, have any money to spend

Always on my radar so thought it worth mentioning, and acknowledging Arsenal will be challenging for the title, Forest have looked absolutely dreadful. That’s another team who should definitely be worse than us. I say should of course…

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

We may well have some money but it's a question of whether we can get the players we want. Dougie and Co have a clear system of identifying players out of the many thousands around. They narrow down the options using a data approach before going to look at the possible signings for the positions we are targetting.

They may well have discounted players we fans think we ought to be after.

It may well be that others have moved out of our price range given the crazy valuations in the current market.

We have to remember that we have one of the lowest (if not the lowest) transfer pots in the whole division. That's why Parish wants the new stand and why we are trying to realign our wages structure.

1) A wonderful season would be top 10.
2) We won't find a striker. Eduoard will score 6-8 goals.
3) Finding an LB and RB as good as Guehi, Anderson or the old
Mitchell would win us more points than finding a striker anyway.
4) Olise's fitness/health more important than any tactics.
5) On cold wet days from Jan-March, Roy will rue taking the job, and we'll wonder what he was thinking.
6) Fans will become increasingly frustrated with Parish, though it's the Yanks who deserve their ire.
7) We'll finish 14th-15th without much anxiety because the bottom clubs will separate themselves by March.

Elanga set up the Forest goal perfectly today - at the price he was I can't understand how we weren't interested at all. He'll be their best player this season and along with Johnson, they'll be fine in those positions. They need to tighten up.

Had exact same thoughts on Elanga.

So many pant wetting posts, it's embarrassing.
One thing that I am pleased to see is a solid competitive midfield, allied to some attacking flair. With step-over kid Zaha gone, Ayew showed how it should be done - make the yard, flash in the cross, and Edouard should be there or thereabouts to poke in, that's his job.
Zaha never understood this, and sometimes I think fans are in the belief that a goal can only come about through a dribble that beats 3 defenders before beating the keeper with a perfect shot into the top corner. On the contrary.
