As i think Stirling said, they are not inherently bad, they just need working on. The gig economy and rise in internet businesses has changed the way we need to work as well as legislate (taxation etc). A lot of governments across the world of all political persuasions seem to be struggling with this. The answer isn't banning them out of hand but making sure that there is an element of protection too.

Just the £52 billion pound bill for leaving the EU will dent the figures, £52 billion I don't remember mentioned when we were giving £350 million a week to the NHS. Moreover, it's hard to reconcile the record employment rates with the rise in JSA.

The unemployment numbers are a government statistic you actually believe that about 10,000 more people get work each month? Add part time workers who have been 'managed' out of the figures by Whitehall and you would have 3 million out of work now. Everything is a fiddle.
