And that is why Labour has lost the votes of working class people. Sneering Emily Thornberry didn't get it.

The reaction by many on the Left to the proposal is staggering. The Guardian carried a response which said that if Labour were to adopt this proposed policy it might lose its 'core' voters. LOL. Any British political party that might lose voters because it decides to promote the Union Jack simply cannot ever achieve power. They are beyond delusional.

They are not interested in ever winning a majority. They just want to be a protest movement.

Apparently, he is desperate for a 'safe' Labour seat and is supposedly angling to be included in female only short-lists.

Incessant EU ball-watching bores.

When we have 5 million projected unemployed, a busted economy due to the pandemic and loss of the EU market, give the queue at the food bank a union jack to wave.

No, not due to the pandemic, due to the reaction to the pandemic. These were political and media choices made for us.

What's coming down the pipe was never approved as the better option by me.

As for your seeming preference for the EU....which everyone notes you refuse to move to....they are even more in the mire than the UK.

At least the UK has economic flexibility and isn't ruled by the one size fits all Mark...errr sorry the Euro.

What's coming is god awful but it'll be the same everywhere but being independent we have several advantages over EU slave states.

And as with all economic recessions, there will always be those that prosper.

Guilty as charged.

And whilst I use the word 'interesting' with some trepidation, the on-going political relationship that seems to be developing between Michael Gove and Maroš Sefcovic who is the vice-President of the European Commission has caught my attention.

Both issued joint statements over both the crisis last week concerning the vaccine export ban and also now over resolving the issues concerning haulage to Northern Ireland.

Suspect they are both the power behind their respective thrones at the moment. And with Sefcovic being Slovakian, would make sense for the UK to develop good diplomatic links with the smaller EU nations for a variety of reasons.

Got a lot of time for Michael Gove.

Patriotism is 'the last refuge of the scoundrel'.

No wonder Labour have adopted it.

Well it's not as if there is anything else to do at the moment.

Definitely the brains and the more I see of Johnson, the more I have to conclude he is just the optics although that must never be taken lightly. Johnson has the special sauce that wins stuff. People respond to him on an almost irrational level. A formidable partnership and I am sure Cummings is never far away from the mix either.

Labour have nothing that even comes close. In the absolute political mire at the moment and with no obvious candidates to even replace Starmer if such a move comes about.
