All of our political parties are falling apart.

In fairness I don't think the comparisons were that far fetched. There are security checks but the guy had proper accreditation and all he had was a piece of paper. While it's an embarrassment for the Tories it's difficult to police that kind of thing without becoming even more like the Workers' Party of Korea at conference than they already (self-admittedly) are. Given the checks in place someone could do a lot more mischief pretending to be a Tory/Labour/Lib Dem/Whatever activist on the doorstep during campaigning season. How about party leaders speaking in towns in public during election time? The risk the politicians are in there.

A proselytising of a belief put forward by Labour and the left-wing press.

So in your world this is all going to plan and there is no infighting in the Tory party and the conference and TM's speech yesterday were both a roaring success and the public at large thinks she's doing a cracking job and Boris talking about clearing away dead bodies so we can build some offices and put some deck chairs down is all a good lark, a bit like popping your knob in a deceased animal's head. All spiffing. Just a bloody good caper, let the lion roar, pop over to Europe, bash Johnny Foreigner, take back control (and £350m a week) and be home in time for tea and crumpets. Huzzah!

Well it's understandable that most people with any sense want to avoid a communist-lite 'government' with a Marxist ex-trainee-priest as Chancellor. Edited by hedgehog50 (05 Oct 2017 9.52am)

Broadbrush, blustery bombastications. Rhetorical grandstanding clinging to the wreckage that Labour actually won the election and conveniently glossing over the state of the marxist wing of the Labour party and their policies of yesteryear.

It was a poor conference, but hardly a surprise, the lack of a majority and Brexit looming large, what else was there to talk about. TM could hardly come in tub thumping after the debacle of the 2017 election. But she has apologised again and I can't see what is to be gained by another leadership challenge. They should all stop messing about and get on with delivering the best possible Brexit.

I am attending a CPF tomorrow (Conservative Political Forum) where the topic under discussion is 'Conference'. Looking forward to it immensely.
