The rest of your post, i agree with, i was commenting on the fact that click-bait had L'pool wanting DC to replace Fabinho & if he was going for a reported £40m, then L'pool should cough up £90m for DC & lets face it, we've been shafted by them a few times. Payback.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I think you could make a comparison with Brighton’s Caicedo and they are asking stupid money for him. So Palace should do similar in my view

Caicedo is only 21 and already played over 30 times for his senior national team Ecuador. He has achieved more then Doucoure plus almost 3 years younger so if you want to use a middle ground Rice was 105m the price for Caicedo appears to be 70m so 40-50m would be max for Doucoure. Values are not stupid it's the price a club puts out and if someone will pay it that is the value. Stupid would be Palace claiming they wanted 80m+ for Zaha that worked out well didn't it 0 offers now he is leaving on a free.

Similar age and I don’t see that Caicedo has achieved much more than Doucoure but I accept he’s the better known player. The fee bandied around in the media is anything between £70m plus add ons and £100m. I call that stupid money in the same way I thought the fee that Chelsea paid for Cucurella was stupid. Are you telling me he’s been value for money ? Every player is available at a price and all I’m saying is we should only sell at an inflated fee.

Have Int'l caps become the single barometer for a player? As someone rightly mentioned Cucurella went for circa or even north of £60mil and he has 1 cap for Spain. Doucoure beat a lot of similar type players statistically last season and is integral to our team, we don't have an abundance of playing resource as others might. Therefore any comparison to the likes of Caicedo etc. are surely correct and his price should reflect this if the likes of L'pool are interested. Is it really much of a debate or is Mort still playing a stereotype character to spark conversation on the forum?
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Realistically we only need two players, although we would like more, we need Wilf out, Mateta or Edouard moved on, then use the 400/500k a week saving to fund a wilf replacement, Tresor,Clarke or Hudson odoi, and a mobile CF, Che Adams would be fine, if we sell a player just replace with the money.

A fee in the region of £35m was definitely NOT what I had in mind for Doucoure. At that price it looks like we are happy to sell, which I am hoping we are not.
