That is selfishness its all about him.

Oh Lordy! I wasn’t saying Roy isn’t fully committed to Palace - it wasn’t a comment about Roy at all. Simply that we are a decent club, with a good set up and scope to grow so our NEXT manager should have the same hunger and desperation for our job as Moyes had for the West Ham job. He has shown in signings like Dawson and the Czech lads that it’s not all about money - right man, at the right club, at the right time is a significant factor too. Again before people start crying about Roy - I fully acknowledge he has been that man for us for the last 4 years. But the fact is he won’t be for the next 4 years - so don’t we have to look to the future?

If Wilf said I’ll stay if Roy stays, that might be a different matter. Can’t see it mind.

It's just something that you clearly want to believe. The decision to offer a contract is what is key here. And that's down to Parish. And I would like to think that in his mind he knows whether he will be or not.

In the many interviews I've seen, Roy has said that he accepts the approach Palace are taking, and is happy enough with it. He even went so far as to say that he was easy either way regarding whether he stays on, but was perfectly clear that he expects all staff and players with uncertain futures to remain fully committed and professional. Which is everything we can hope for from a manager in his position, if not possibly a little more. Really not sure how you've turned that into Roy being selfish.

It's very simple to follow. So you think its not selfish for a guy to wait until his contract expires before willing to open up talks about it this holds you back as a business you need to know in advance the direction you are going in.

Last season with 10 games remaining, it was announced that Mr Hodgson had signed a contract for a further season. Edited by Willo (11 Mar 2021 5.13pm)

What would you say in those circumstances? When (or if) the club decide they would like to discuss extending his contract, then it will of course be open to Roy to decide how he wishes to proceed, but he isn't in that position yet, and may never be. He can't do anything but accept that fact.
