Of the three of us, I would agree that one is lacking in '' brain functions '' and I know it's not TBTP or me. What part of you ( I guess it's your brain ) doesn't understand that Hodgson is an employee and not in the driving seat when it comes to a new contract. Get a grip

Speculation abounds with differences in the 'Mood music'.
We know Roy has a little over two months left to run on his contract, so we will undoubtedly know what is happening ‘very soon’ or in the ‘not too distant future’ as you keep telling us. Like you, I was also carrying out some internet research to see when Roy signed his current contract extension...It turns out it was 06/03/20 so roughly the same time of the year as now and with exactly the same number of games remaining (ten). Roy was clearly happy to negotiate his contract before the end of season last year and so any suggestion that he is not willing to enter any contract negotiations until the end of the season this year would seem more than a little bizarre and also a complete contradiction of his previous approach. This just provides further encouragement that Parish is planning a change of manager for next year.

If we beat West Brom then we will be all but safe (again), and there will be an unusually long break in the schedule. If we come out the other end of that break, off the back of that win, and Hodgson has not been offered a contract then I'd wager that he ain't getting offered one. He will know it, everyone will see it.

For avoidance of doubt, I never conducted any Internet research on this matter, the information was relayed to me as part of a communication regarding Mr Hodgson. In relation to your first point, time will tell if supporters have to wait for an announcement until the end of the season or matters become clear before then. Edited by Willo (11 Mar 2021 5.51pm)

In fact, I do wonder if the day after we are mathematically safe (whenever that is) will be something of a day of the long knives at Selhurst. If you were Parish and you had decided to offer new terms to most of the out-of-contract players then you would have done it by now. He has for Jairo, and for Guaita. If, on the other hand, you were Parish and you wanted to have a big cull (manager, staff and players), but you needed those same individuals to perform for a while yet, you'd do exactly what he is doing right now. Keep quiet until you don't need them anymore.

Edited by Willo (11 Mar 2021 5.51pm) Just for clarity Willo, I was not (and am still not) in any doubt whatsoever. I was only opining just the other night, with a former league manager, a current ‘top tier’ coach, a Championship scout, a non-league groundsman, a hot dog seller from the Stan Cullis concourse and a young couple walking their dog on Ferring beach, just how accurate your ageing recall is. In fact, if my memory serves me right, I don’t think you’ve ever been anything other than 100% accurate about any fact or statistic you’ve provided.....EVER. Even if the subject matter is about a youth team player from Accrington Stanley (who no one else has ever heard of) or it’s the net transfer spend of Brora Rangers for the 2012/13 Season. Quite remarkable! Edited by Phil’s Barber (11 Mar 2021 6.53pm)

Quite remarkable! I repeat that in respect of the timing of Mr Hodgson signing his last contract I certainly did NOT consult the Internet for this information. Of course I do research some facts to try and add a certain value to the discussion and to the best of my knowledge this is permitted and is NOT a hanging offence. Finally, you mentioned Ferring beach.I have taken a few genteel strolls along it and stopped and enjoyed the hospitality at the delightful 'Bluebird' cafe alongside.Seen many couples walking their dogs in this vicinity and along the greensward.

You seem to have an inside track on whatever is going on between Roy and the Club. Please update regularly so we are not distracted by guesses and opinions from the Roy Out brigade with mindless comments and opinions. Thanks Originally posted by grumpymort
That is selfishness its all about him.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
