This is from The Independent.

Of his father’s inconvenient English background, Mr Biden said last year: “He had the saving grace, on his mother’s side, of having a Hanafee from Galway. That’s the only thing that saved him. And you all think I’m kidding. I'm not.”

He constantly demonises the English, no wonder the progressives love him so much.

If you are an Irish Nationalist just say so.

Better you go and live in the US as you admire it so much

Whilst I understand the commercial imperative that has doubtless driven Dominion into accepting the settlement, as any jury trial runs risks, it is nevertheless politically disappointing.

Forcing the Murdochs and their senior presenters onto the stand and being cross examined under oath would have revealed a lot about their true feelings about Trump, and knowledge about the events surrounding the 2020 election.

Hopefully though it will mean they have to be much more careful in future about spreading conspiracy theories and downright lies. Let's hope too it starts to undermine the trust that so many viewers have in this awful broadcaster.

Apparently there are several other cases pending, both against Fox itself, some of its executives and people like Giuliani. These are claiming even bigger damages than in this case, so perhaps this is only the first act.

This is good news, but in perhaps in different ways to the sentiments expressed thus far.

The more chased and persecuted the Murdochs feel the much the better. As much as I'm no fan, their money goes a long way.

I live in Galway and believe you me, we haven't claimed him. Going to Mayo was a massive snub to us.
At least Biden's father kept him away from drink, drugs and wife beating. Just like Joe has done for Hunter.

The verdict was evitable really, on account that a myriad of their own news anchors had already acknowledged in conversations that they knew they were spouting b0llocks. If a person or company feels defamed good for them for taking action. It's important to be accurate in how we define and describe others conduct - I certainly make sure I am. That's especially true of news networks, though of course news and opinion are now more a muddy mix than ever unfortunately.

While it would be nice for Fox to have to publicly acknowledge that they knowingly spouted lies, I guess in any negotiated settlement both sides have to be realistic. It's a big financial hit and as result they are likely to be more careful about indulging in fantasy in the upcoming elections, at least with regard to companies with the ability to hit back. Where other news networks lie about individuals or companies the same should happen to them.

Reports out there about a potential whistle blower from the IRS wanting to give evidence in Washington about pressure being exerted from the White House around investigations into Hunter Biden's tax affairs.

Could be interesting...
