To be fair, Australia were brilliant in the field, taking half chances whereas England's fielding was an embarrassment. England are an embarrassment all round. They really raise my hackles.

No we didn't play well and once again, the top of the order flatter to deceive again. However, apart from the fielding it wasnt exactly embarrassing, we just got outclassed by a far superior side on their own pitch. Let's see how we get on against Sri Lanka and Bangledesh before we start going ott and calling for a new generation of players (Vince and Roy the only real candidates btw). We have a solid order now bar the openers, and our best opener doesn't even make the line-up over Bell.

To be honest we shouldn't really expect the England team to be successful.....Even though Australia have only about seven million people....It's quite amusing when you think about it. The English cricket team don't really justify the amount of money they collectively earn. It's a kind of racket really. What irritates me is listening to the PR from them.....Delusional nonsense that bears little connection to the reality of what happens on the cricket field. The ECB are wholly responsible for creating lower cricket participation amongst young males in the UK.....This is the biggest factor in reducing our team's effectiveness.....A clue is in the high amount of public school boys or qualified foreign players (not an issue by itself) in the team. The ECB are totally to blame for effectively destroying free to air coverage for the game.....Cricket is a non entity in most secondary schools....Investing in the grass roots hasn't worked for increasing numbers and waffling on focusing on the women's cricket (while nice) does nothing for the success of the team that brings home the bacon. Either I'm confused my good sir, as we have a population of around 22 million. Glad we finished you guys up pretty swiftly as the opening game at home is always a danger.

Woakes should be shot for dropping Finch, 3rd ball of the game on 0. Our bowling in the last 15 (alright 14.3) overs was abysmal. James Taylor batted well, that is all. The umpires do not know the rules, we're still 9 down with 55 balls left. Ireland were amazing last night, saw them to 111-5 and went to bed, glad to hear they finished the job off.

What a win for Ireland!!! Even though the ICC have reduced it to 10 teams there are still two qualifying places and Ireland were the 1st team to qualify for 2015. Although there will be Bangladesh & Zimbabwe (I'm presuming they wont be in the top eight) in the qualification process. I would prefer 16 steams with there being 4 groups x 4 then 1/4s, 1/2z & final. The problem seems to be that the group matches are far too spread out for TV reasons I believe. Does anyone know how the 2019 finals will work with 10 teams? tow groups of five perhaps. Edited by PALACE FOR EVER (16 Feb 2015 3.11pm)
The pyramid to beat all pyramids!! Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in? |
