I have to say I disagree with much that has been said about Carragher on this Thread but I won't go into details or get embroiled in any protracted debate as I will only be accused of being a "Troll" or other choice accusations which are wholly inaccurate.

Whether that's true or not I don't know but it's interesting to note that on HOL people like Carragher are reviled for their perceived loyalty to their club yet Ian Wright is equally reviled as he doesn't appear to be loyal to us

Carragher was a one club man and Shearer was a Geordie at heart wherever he played in his career.I know some people hate on Wrighty because they feel he prefers Arsenal to Palace but I don't agree with it personally. When we played WBA soon after Pulis had taken charge he ripped into him on BTSport for not starting Berahino at Selhurst and what he stood for in a football sense. His facial expressions and the aggressive nature of his words were quite obviously about more than just Berahino. He would have known what went on with the mercenary welsh cnut because he is very good mates with Brighty and Parish and in my opinion he couldn't help himself and he had to get it out of his system. He still loves Palace but he achieved far more at Arsenal, why should he be "loyal" to us over them its not a competition surely?

I didn't understand Carragher to be having a dig at us.Thought he was just making the point that we set up to maximise the best out of a top player.....which he is...

Carragher is just plain boring,as are most of the football pundits. The views given are no more insightful than those of the bloke down the pub.

Sky appear to only use ex Liverpool and Man U players
who have little knowledge outside the top 6 clubs.

BT is not much better - Owen is shocking.

Carragher spent ages explaining why Palace's goal was definitely offside yet barely offered an opinion on the Arsenal goal yesterday which appeared both offside and handball

And accurately so.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I regret to disappoint you but alas I'm not going to be a fish on the end of your bait.
No doubt you are as deflated like a pouffe without it's wadding.

I would like everybody to know that I am not going to comment on Willo's comment. I have lots of very important observations on what Willo has said which I am going to keep to myself. And I am not going to let you know that I am not going to comment or the reasons for that.

I'm not saying we are a one man team (and I don't think Carragher did either really), but we are very reliant on Benteke. As others have said, we're still a premier league side without him but a struggling one. With him in the team we're a top half side.

We did have Delaney score a goal, but while Pardew said the lino said Delaney was offside (incorrectly), Damo came out and said the lino told him it was Jimmy Mac offside. Which was the correct decision for me.

I thought Carragher was a bit over the top, but didn't think he was too far off in his assessment of us. And given he's an Everton fan you may make some allowances.

Clearly missed the point I was making.

By the way you forgot to add "I don't want to turn this into a Mapletree thread" TUT TUT.

Now let's get back to the subject matter. Thanks
