The 2 litre 170BHP in the Exeo I've had for the last 2 years is great - 60mpg on motorways at 70-80mph, low 50's on A and B roads and low 40's in town. Thats standard for a diesel nowadays. And VW's 'thing' was never the economy, just the emmissions.
