This just came to light up here in the North East.... Makes him wanting out so quick after not long signing a contract extension more understandable now! On another note...good result for you lot last night. This is gonna be one tough end to the season.

I'm sure there's many reasons he would want to leave, including Allardyce getting the best of him and Palace having more ambition (that's not a dig at Sunderland fans, but rather your owners). He looked like someone who was really pleased to be joining us, rather than someone on the run from a teacher. Hopefully he has a good game against your lot on Saturday

Hopefully he has a good game against your lot on Saturday I'm not doubting that either mate...clearly there were other reasons too and Big Sam was a big draw for him, as would be being back in London, but this was clearly a factor. Someone posted on our forum the other week that non-footballing matters surrounded PVA and it's only just came out today that he's the fotballer referred to in this article. Footballers eh haha!!
