It is 5th round onward. Which even this season alone would've deprived Rochdale of a TV replay versus Spurs, at Wembley. Big money.

Rochdale would have received 45% of the profits and this coupled with TV money must mean that the money secured their immediate future.

You'd think that in return for this, PL clubs could agree to give 100% of profits from FA cup rounds with no replays to lower league opposition.

At the least it'll cover the fine for the pitch invader, who tried to attack the referee when they played Oldham last week.

Totally agree, what about guaranteeing to show them on TV so they get more money, rather than some of the boring Bin dipper/Manc games they always show.

They will have to do this, or it's not a break and the TV companies will demand it reverts back.

We shall see. Sky will get rights to show the exhibition matches.

If there were any, they would cost them more money. Friendlies and exhibition game rights are sold by the home team.

This isn't like the German window that is over 3 weeks long, and usually a month when not before a World Cup. And it won't fit in with anyone else's window either.

My understanding is that the 'Winter Breaks' in Germany,France,Italy etc are for a specific period when NO matches are scheduled, unlike what is being proposed for the break over here.

It is being advocated that this is being driven by the TV companies and if so one has to accept that they do put a lot of money into the game for which clubs benefit, therefore they can call the shots.Clubs cannot have it both ways - get large sums from the TV rights then complain when decisions driven by TV go against them.
